«Science and business. Is there a universal model of interaction between science and business?» —

Is the theme of the 114-th meeting of Business-Club «Dialogues» for owners and managers of business enterprises far Eastern Federal district and Pacific rim countries, which was held jointly with the far Eastern branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Representatives of the business community and scientists think in different categories. The main goal of scientists is knowledge of the world, essence of the phenomena and on this basis, the manufacturing innovation, development of new products and services. For business the main goal — profit.

However, without innovation, without new products and services to make a profit becomes more difficult. Therefore, in the modern world of business and science collaboration is necessary. How to make this dialogue effective and productive? Is there a universal model for such interaction? These and other questions were posed in the meeting agenda.

«In order to do something great, you have to make a bold first step» — a beautiful Oriental wisdom opened a historic meeting of the Business-Club Valentin SERGIENKO, Chairman, Far East branch, Russian Academy of Sciences. Valentin Ivanovich said that it is an unprecedented business meeting, which should initiate effective collaboration between science and business.

Academic science has something to offer to the business community. So, many of the Guests aroused the interest of the innovative proposals of the Institute of Automation and Control Processes Feb RAS, presented in the report by Yuri KULCHIN. «The efficiency of technologies to restore parts of the ship equipment with the use of fiber lasers can exceed hundreds of billions of rubles a year», – said Yuri Nikolaevich.

G. B. Elyakov Pacific Institute of Bioorganic chemistry more than 50 years. Today, the Institute produces the active substance of medicines by ordering some pharmaceutical companies, in the Central part of the country and every year expands this activity. In addition, Institute initiates recreate the region’s pharmaceutical industry. Created the concept of development of pharmaceutical cluster. Also, the Director Valentin STONIK noted that the International relations of the Institute can be used to attract foreign investors.

The emphasis today is on the tourism industry, in this area the integration of science and business can be most effective. The creation of the archaeological Museum-reserve on the basis of krasnoyarovskoe settlement will resolve several tasks: save a unique monument of archeology, and the creation of the scientific complex and unique tourist destination for the Far East. This was told by Nadezhda ARTEMIEVA, Institute of history, archaeology and Ethnography of peoples of Far East Feb RAS. And Director of the Institute Viktor LARIN, in his speech emphasized the fact that scientific developments can do business! «Innovations in the future, the only question is how effectively the business will use them,» said Viktor Lavrentevich.

114-th meeting was held in the Scientific-Educational complex of the Feb RAS «Primorsky Aquarium». The report on the activities of the Aquarium, Vadim SERKOV, the Director, emphasized that it was a socially-oriented organization that also drew attention to the figures, over 200 000 visitors in three months of work. Today, following global trends, the business community is interested in the development of social projects, so the question of interaction with Aquarium is relevant.
